Domestic or Commercial Decorating
We do both, our portfolio of clients is very well balanced comprising of home owners, landlords, letting agents, property management companies, building contractors and commercial business owners therefore we have worked in fully furnished family homes, vacant properties, rental properties, holiday homes, hotels, factories, industrial units and offices.
Dust Free Sanding & Protection
For most of our prep work we use a professional Mirka vacuum orbital sander, our customers love this machine as all the dust generated from sanding is collected via a dust extractor, saving both us and the client a lot of time and effort cleaning up at the end of the day.
It is standard practice for us to take extreme care when it comes to protecting your property and its contents. Carpets, furniture, radiators and door handles will be covered with dust sheets, towels or plastic sheeting. Carpet perimeters are masked with tape, and external windows are covered with protective film. Our aim is to leave your property as we find it.
Exterior Decorating during the winter months
Providing the correct products are used, exterior painting can be completed throughout all seasons of the year. An oil based exterior masonry paint would be our recommendation during the colder winter period as it can be applied down to -10° and becomes shower proof within 20-30 minutes.
During the period when a rental property becomes vacant we do what is known as a ‘landlord freshen up’, this is when the landlord, letting agent or Management Company requires a quick redecoration of a property to smarten it up ready for the next tenant. Our main focus is on a cost effective quick turnaround allowing the property to be marketed and let out as soon as possible. To achieve this, preparation is kept to a minimum, but the end result isn’t compromised.
We have strong working relationships with landlords and letting agents including Eden Lettings, Ridgewater Lettings and Taylors. We understand the importance of working alongside tenants and the importance of good communication with the letting agents and landlords.
Supplying paint and materials
Generally we supply the paint and materials but if you wish to supply your own that is not a problem, we would however always recommend that you choose Trade paint instead of DIY store paint (see below). Our most popular choice of brand is Dulux, Armstead, Crown, Zinsser, Farrow & Ball, Sikkens and Bradite.
What is the difference between Trade paint and DIY paint?
Trade paint offers superior performance as it has a higher opacity and better coverage, 30% - 40% above DIY paints. The higher opacity means less chance of the substrate showing through the paint film and therefore fewer coats are required to achieve a solid finish. The paint life is extended; trade quality paints usually hold their colour longer and are more durable than DIY paints.
